29 Weeks And Counting!

So I apologize in advance to everyone I've been promising a new blog post for the past couple months. I am just terrible at keeping up these things! I'll probably get better at it when the baby arrives and I feel like there are more interesting things to post about besides the girth of my ever expanding belly! Anyhow, I am now 29 weeks along, and I can't believe how quickly the time has gone. I only have about 11 weeks left before our precious bundle is born! And no....we haven't picked a name yet, although it's going to stay a secret as many of you know until after he is born. Sorry! I know it's killing you, but it still may be a secret even to us until we actually meet him face to face and decide which name suits him best. We shall see! We won't have another ultrasound picture until I'm a little further along, so I'm posting a general picture of a 29 week old baby to give you all an idea of where he is in his development. I can tell you that he is a VERY active baby and seems to be growing bigger by the day. I've also posted a picture of myself during my last visit to Arizona in July to see my family. I have grown a lot since then, but it's all I've got to show you for now!

There is a lot going on for the California Fong Family. First and foremost, our first child is expected November 7th! We covet your prayers for our preparation to be new parents, our son's future salvation and his health. Also, Darius' company is growing, and there are some exciting new developments in the works. Please pray that God gives him wisdom. We need prayer to stay focused on God as our first priority and to live to honor Him in all we do and to keep our marriage strong. How your baby's growing:

Your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain. To meet his increasing nutritional demands, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because his bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in your baby's hardening skeleton each day.
