Yes, folks! I'm at 35 weeks now. Only a very short time until we get to meet our precious baby boy! I'm still feeling great. No issues to speak of unless you count swollen extremities. Totally normal from what our doctor tells me. Sleeping has gotten to be somewhat of a challenge at times with all the getting up to go to the bathroom and the belly poundage, but mostly it's working out alright. A good friend of mine says it's God's way of preparing me to get up every 3 days (oops! I just wanted to see if you were still reading). I meant every 3 "hours" to feed our little one. I think that's a good way to look at it. Here's a little info about the baby's development this week. Darius and I can't wait to meet him and see what he looks like! We are so excited!
How your baby's growing: Your baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now that he's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (
pick up a honeydew melon). Because it's so snug in your womb, he isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.
